What is today's Wordle answer of the day for February 16?

Wordle has become a massive hit over the past couple of months and has brought out everyone's love of word challenges.

Another bonus is that the game doesn't cost anything to play and is ad-free while only taking a few minutes out of your day - perfect for a morning commute or lunch break entertainment.

Before reading ahead, note we will be giving away today's Wordle answer so if you don't want to spoil it for yourself stop now.

Today's word is quite the tricky one and is likely to trip up a lot of players since it's not a word commonly used throughout the day.

If, like me, you were able to get the L in the right place but discovered the Y wasn't included you may have been scratching your head for quite some time.

But if you were a bit luckier you may have got both the vowels needed to make figuring out this word a lot easier - A and U.

There are only a couple of five-letter words with A, U and the L in the fourth place.

It's safe to assume that many of you went for CHALK if you didn't have the letter U figured out, thankfully, guessing this word should provide enough clues as to the correct answer.

Hopefully, you came to the conclusion that today's Wordle answer is CAULK!

Don't get too upset if you ran out of guesses on this one, caulk is a very uncommon word and honestly, I figured out the word on only my last guess.

In fact, you may have just guessed the answer without knowing what it actually means.

Caulk refers to a waterproof filler used in construction - so the builders among you probably got this one without breaking a sweat!
