A star cast will bring to life a lesser-known Roald Dahl work for Netflix, it has been confirmed.
An adaptation of short story collection “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar” is in the works for the streaming giant.
The likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes and Dev Patel have already been recruited to the cast.
And ‘French Dispatch’ filmmaker Wes Anderson has also been secured as director, to re-work the 1982 collection of seven short stories.

This will be Anderson’s second Roald Dahl project, after co-writing the 2009 stop-motion film ‘The Fantastic Mr. Fox’.
The short story collection is generally seen as being for older children, compared to Dahl's most famous works.
The new project comes after Netflix’s acquisition of The Roald Dahl Story Company, with several other projects in the works including a musical adaptation of Matilda.

The upcoming Netflix project has already secured some big names for its cast.

Benedict Cumberbatch
Dr Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch will be leading the cast of The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, taking on the title role of Henry Sugar himself.
Cumberbatch, who also played Sherlock in the BBC adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's detective, will crop up in multiple roles in other stories throughout the film, too.
The 45-year-old English actor also starred in The Imitation Game, Star Trek Into Darkness and 12 Years A Slave.
Ralph Fiennes
Known for his role as Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter franchise, actor Ralph Fiennes will be joining Cumberbatch in the line-up for the film.
The 59-year-old is also known for his roles in No Time To Die, The Constant Gardener and Kingsman.
Dev Patel
Slumdog Millionaire lead Dev Patel has also been signed up for the Anderson Dahl adaptation.
Patel, 31, has also starred in the 2016 film Lion, as well as The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and the TV series The Newsroom.
Ben Kingsley
The final announcement so far for The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar is 78-year-old actor Sir Ben Kingsley.
He played Gandhi in the 1982 film, and has also appeared in Iron Man 3 and Marvel’s Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, as well as in the TV mini series Watership Down.

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar starts by telling the tale of a wealthy and idle playboy, Henry Sugar.
Henry likes to gamble and is not above cheating to win, but one summer weekend he finds a library in his friend’s house and discovers a blue exercise book on the shelves.
After stealing the book, Henry sets off on a series of misadventures, which form the ‘six more’ stories part of the film.
When is The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar on Netflix?
As yet there is no date for The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar appearing on Netflix.
