We've already had one playoff to decide a Major in 2025, when an unforgettable final afternoon at The Masters finished with Rory McIlroy beating Justin Rose in the first additional hole to complete his career Grand Slam.
Now we're onto Quail Hollow for the PGA Championship where Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm are vying for the Wanamaker Trophy in the final round.
But what happens if the titans end up tied at the top of the leaderboard after the 72 regulation holes?
PGA CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFF FORMAT
If there is a tie after 72 holes, the leaders will contest the PGA Championship playoff over Quail Hollow's notorious Green Mile - holes 16, 17 and 18 in an aggregate three-hole format.
If they're still tied after that, it moves to sudden-death beginning on the 18th, before sequencing through holes 16, 17 and 18 until there is a winner.
All four Majors have different playoff formats. The Masters features a sudden-death playoff, the US Open a two-hole aggregate playoff, and the Open a four-hole aggregate.
WHEN WAS THE LAST PGA CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFF?
PGA Championship playoffs are relatively infrequent, with only 14 in the tournament since 1958 when it switched to the strokeplay format.
We almost had one last year, when Bryson DeChambeau pushed Xander Schauffele all the way before the PGA Tour star won by one with a birdie at the final hole.

The most recent playoff came just three years ago when Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris were tied after 72 holes at Southern Hills, before Thomas outscored his opponent over three holes to win his second Wanamaker Trophy.
That was the first PGA Championship playoff since 2011, when Keegan Bradley edged out Jason Dufner at Atlanta Athletic Club.
