What is the biggest remaining hole on the Miami Dolphins’ roster?

The Miami Dolphins’ latest and greatest chance to add to their 2019 roster has passed them by. And the Dolphins, to their credit, did well. They added a minimum of three starters to the roster in DL Christian Wilkins, iOL Michael Deiter and QB Josh Rosen.

But the issue with the Dolphins hasn’t necessarily been what they’d do in this draft — it was if they had enough to adequately address every issue. They, of course, did not. And so, in reappraising the Dolphins current roster, where do the biggest issues lie?

The Dolphins biggest areas of concern entering the draft were on the line of scrimmage. After the draft, they remain on the line of scrimmage.

Most notably, Miami has glaring holes at Right Tackle (Zach Sterup) and Defensive End (Jonathan Woodard, Charles Harris). To say the Dolphins are in bad shape here would be a gross understatement.

Fortunately, life gets a little easier for Miami in about 2 weeks. After May 9th, NFL teams may sign veteran free agents without it counting against the 2020 compensatory picks. The Dolphins need to wait out less than two weeks before their 2020 3rd-round compensatory pick for Ja’Wuan James is locked in — meaning Miami will likely find a replacement right tackle on the market.

Defensive end is a bit more complicated. Don’t expect the Dolphins to find much success here, but they’ll have to dig through current free agents and post-June 1st cuts to help boost the rush.
