What is Sunderland's strongest XI now the transfer window has closed?

So now we know the Sunderland squad which will carry the club's promotion hopes until January at least.

The Black Cats made one late addition to their ranks on deadline day, with the arrival of Laurens De Bock on a season-long loan from Leeds United.

The left-back will provide competition for Denver Hume and brings to an end Jack Ross' search for a defender in this role.

The summer has seen more change on Wearside, with the club dramatically reducing its wage bill with the exits of Lee Cattermole, Donald Love, Bryan Oviedo and Adam Matthews, while George Honeyman also moved to Hull City.

However, Ross has also been able to bring in the likes of Jordan Willis, Conor McLaughlin, Lee Burge, George Dobson and loan signing Marc McNulty, and has seen his side lose only once so far this campaign.

The Black Cats have competition for every place throughout their squad - but what is their strongest XI?

We want to know which side, with everyone fully fit and available, you would pick.

Use our team selector tool below to choose your ideal Sunderland XI from the current squad, and which formation they should place, and compare that with the most popular selection.
