Ever wished VALORANT rewarded you for nailing esports predictions? Well, Riot is finally making that happen with Shotcall, which promises to offer a thrilling mini-game experience alongside the live VCT action we’re already hooked on.
Announced on Aug. 5, the new Shotcall feature lets players offer “real-time predictions of what they think will happen next in a VALORANT match.” From guessing the final stats of your favorite player/team to speculating the winner of a high-stakes series, the questions are designed to test the depth of a player’s knowledge of the VCT scene, while also testing their guessing sense.

What is Shotcall in VALORANT Esports?
Shotcall is a new Twitch (streaming platform) extension, available for the official VCT Esports channels. When enabled, you can participate in exciting prediction games about the ongoing VCT match. If you answer correctly, you gain points toward a leaderboard. You can also earn in-game rewards for certain milestones, like touching a certain rank on the leaderboard, predicting a number of outcomes correctly, and more.
Shotcall is a desktop-only extension, meaning you can’t access it if you’re streaming VCT games on Twitch using your mobile phone. You either need a PC or laptop, or load up the desktop version of Twitch on your phone’s browser as a workaround.
How to use Shotcall for VCT predictions (limited beta schedule)
Shotcall is currently in beta testing and still under development, meaning it won’t be available during every pro VALORANT match you watch, at least for a while.
For the first limited public beta, you can access Shotcall in any of the three VCT Americas’ official Twitch channels, but on certain days only:
- Aug. 8
- Aug. 15
- Aug. 22
- Aug. 29
All these dates fall on a Friday, hence the name “Shotcall Fridays.” That said, Riot hasn’t confirmed whether Shotcall will be available on all VCT days—or just on Fridays—after it fully launches.
To use Shotcall for VALORANT esports predictions during a beta session, just follow these steps:
- Tune in to any of the three official VCT Americas Twitch channels on a beta day.
- Look for the red crystal ball icon in the top-left corner of the stream to open the overlay, then sign in using your Riot account.
- If you don’t see the red crystal ball, make sure Shotcall is enabled. Find the Twitch extension controls icon on the right side of the video, select it, then ensure Shotcall is set to “visible.”
With Shotcall available on your screen, you can now lock in your VCT predictions and earn points and rewards for your correct guesses.
All rewards for Shotcall in VALORANT esports
Riot has yet to announce the reward for participating in Shotcall’s very first beta session for VALORANT esports, starting on Aug. 8. We’ll update this space when more information is available.
As of now, you can claim only one reward across all four beta sessions. That said, Riot promises to add more exciting rewards for Shotcall in the future. Make sure you submit your feedback on any issues during these beta tests to help speed up the final launch.
