What is MyBury? Welcome to the new home of local news, sport and entertainment for Bury

Welcome to MyBury, the new news channel bringing you all the latest updates from around your town.

MyBury is a fast-moving and in-depth news service which will keep you in the know about what’s happening in Bury seven days a week direct to your mobile phone, tablet or laptop.

But there’ll be so much more than just news.

We’ll cover everything that people in Bury are talking about, every day. The fate of Bury FC, what's happening at The Rock, traffic problems on the A56 and the very best things to do in and around our brilliant town.

The Manchester Evening News has reported on Bury for over 150 years but MyBury will bring a fresh focus and far greater depth to our coverage.

We have hired a new team of journalists to cover Bury and Bolton to make sure we can bring you all the important stories.

New reporters recruited to the Manchester Evening News for the launch of MyBolton and MyBury (L-R) Paige Oldfield, Tom Molloy, Helena Vesty, John McDougall, Tom George, Seamus McDonnell, Amy Walker (Manchester Evening News)

Seamus McDonnell, Helena Vesty, Tom George and Tom Molloy are reporters who already have a wealth of experience covering the region.

They will continue to live and work in and around the town as they report on the latest stories for MyBury.

They are joined by Paige Oldfield, a senior reporter who is transferring to cover the area after excelling as a local reporter for the M.E.N.'s sister news website Derbyshire Live.

And our sports specialist will be John McDougall, another senior and highly experienced journalist who is joining from Cheshire Live. John has covered hundreds of football matches in the Championship, League One and League Two for the Football League Paper and Sportsbeat News Agency.

They will be supported by another new recruit on the M.E.N, experienced court reporter Amy Walker, who will be covering Bury cases as they come up in magistrates' and crown courts.

However you follow MyBury, you can be sure of finding unrivalled live and in-depth coverage of the local stories you care about.
