What is Mauricio Lara's boxing record ahead of Josh Warrington rematch

Josh Warrington takes on Mexican Mauricio Lara at Headlingley on Saturday night, as he seeks redemption after a surprise defeat in the first bout.

The Leeds native had vacated his IBF title ahead of that fight and the Mexican was viewed as a keep-busy opponent before fighting another big name.

However, it was not the outcome that many anticipated as Lara secured a surprising victory to end Warrington's unbeaten record.

That defeat damaged Warrington's reputation and has left him with plenty to prove heading into the rematch.

At the tender age of 22, Lara is somewhat of a fight veteran but his victory against Warrington was by far the most significant of his career.

He has 25 fights in his career, securing 23 victories, with 16 coming by the way of knockout, and two defeats, one of which was a knockout.

His last defeat came back in 2018 in Mexico and, since then, he has won 11 bouts in a row - including at Wembley in February, which was his first bout in the United Kingdom.

Lara's record in the paid ranks:

Fights - 25

Wins - 23

Losses - 2 (One was his debut in 2015, the other came in May 2018)

Current streak - 11 wins on the bounce, dating back to August 2018
