London Climate Action Week is back again for 2023. This year the climate-focussed week takes place from June 24 until July 2.
It’s a week dedicated to finding solutions to climate change, with events taking place across the capital.
Amid the climate crisis, Londoners are sure to be wondering what they can do to help cut emissions in the city.

What is London Climate Action Week?
London Climate Action Week was founded in 2019 by London Mayor Sadiq Khan. It is the largest independent climate gathering in Europe.
The week was established after Mr Khan declared a climate emergency in London, following a series of scientific reports that warned of the scale of climate change.
It brings business leaders, NGOs, and politicians together to explore solutions to climate change.
London Climate Action Week also aims to showcase London as “the leading example of how the whole of society can together shape and drive climate action.”
What are the themes of this year’s Climate Action Week?
There are four themes this year: accelerating the global clean economy, delivering fair, inclusive, and just climate transitions, expanding networks for Whole of Society Action, and creating a greener London with and for Londoners.
Where is London Climate Action Week?
Events are taking place across London, with major talks happening at London’s ExCel centre.
LCAW events will also take place at iconic London institutions, including The Natural History Museum, the RSA, and Guildhall.
For those who can’t make it to London in person, several events will also be hosted online.

What is London doing to fight climate change?
The Mayor’s office has established a number of initiatives that aim to fight climate change in London.
London aims to be a zero-carbon city by 2030, and the Mayor intends for all of London’s buses to be zero-emission by 2034.
Mr Khan has expanded Ulez to cut air pollution in the city and intends to retrofit homes to become ultra-low carbon.
