While viewers wait for the channel's next big drama to arrive, ITV are repeating detective drama In Plain Sight this week.
With a stellar cast including Douglas Henshall and Martin Compston, the three part series follows Scottish Detective William Muncie (Henshall) as he tries to apprehend serial killer Peter Manuel (Compston).
The story begins in 1946 when Muncie arrests a then 16-year-old Manuel for a number of sexual assaults in the Lanarkshire area.
Nearly a decade later the criminal is released from prison, only to commit more crimes on random victims and taunt his detective nemesis from a distance, aiming to make him pay for putting him behind bars.
In Plain Sight was first broadcast on ITV in 2016 with the cast also including Shauna Macdonald and Joanna Roth.
It is based on the real life killings of Manuel between 1956 and 1958 in Scotland, with Line of Duty star Martin driving to the murderer's old house just to sit outside, with Douglas spoke to William Muchie's daughter to make sure he was giving an accurate portrayal of the detective.
Stuart and David Reid, whose aunties and cousin were killed by Manuel didn't want the drama to go ahead, saying in an interview: "We asked ITV to scrap it. The producers did listen to what we had to say but by this point it was too little, too late.
"It was obvious they had no intention of pulling the plug."
In Plain Sight will air on Monday, June 7, Tuesday, June 8 and Wednesday, June 9 at 9pm, with each episode lasting 60 minutes.
