What is Casualty's The Lost Episode about and when is it being screened?

This weekend's episode of Casualty has been billed 'The Lost Episode'.

Its actual title is Code Orange and this instalment was originally meant to air back in May, during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

BBC bosses pulled the episode of the Welsh-filmed medical drama at the time because it was deemed 'inappropriate' during the ongoing situation.

Fans were bemused by missing the action and some vital scenes on an ongoing love triangle.

Before May 2's subsequent instalment went out, a voiceover said: "The episode we were due to watch tonight, filmed before the spread of Covid-19, was considered inappropriate to show at the moment."

Before you go any further, there are some spoilers for the action in the show.

Code Orange sees the staff and patients at Holby General in a lockown situation thanks to a chemical attack.

It starts with two passed out people in a field, and the action swiftly moved to a nearby street where a nosy neighbour sees a suspicious character dump some litter in her hedge.

The litter contains a nerve agent and that then spreads causing Holby's A&E to go into lockdown.

Kate Oates, Head of Continuing Drama at the BBC, said: "We are really proud of this Casualty episode and are excited to share it with audiences.

"We know Casualty fans will be delighted to watch the never-before-seen moments of the Fenisha, Will and Ethan love triangle, and to see the whole ED come together to tackle an invisible threat."

The episode also saw Marty - played by Welsh actor Shaheen Jafargholi - confront his homophobic father in a vital part of his storyline.

Casualty: The Lost Episode airs on BBC One, Saturday, September 26, at 9.20pm.
