Sunny weather is set to return this weekend with temperatures expected to reach over 25 degrees thanks to an “Azores High” that is starting to move i .
Met Éireann meteorologist, Emer Flood, said: “It’ll turn warmer through the week as a tropical air mass arrives across Ireland, there’ll be some sunny spells but a good deal of cloud around too.
“By the end of the week however as high pressure becomes well-established across the country we can expect more sunshine, along with temperatures widely reaching into the low to mid-twenties. Over the weekend current indications suggest we could see temperatures turn warmer still, possibly reaching the high 20s in a few areas.”
Met Eireann forecast high pressure will build over Ireland bringing mostly dry conditions with increasing amounts of warm sunshine up to 27 degrees. Predicting that the hot spell will last until Tuesday, with showers expected from next Wednesday onwards.

Before the weather returns to finer conditions, rainfall is expected for Thursday. The sunny spell will arrive just on time for anyone heading off at the weekend.
The forecast also states grass pollen is high, “Grass pollen is in peak season and the risk will be high to very high during warm, dry weather with temperatures in the high teens or above.”
