What is Amazon Warehouse? How to find deals on returned items

Amazon = online shopping. The two are almost synonymous.

It’s no wonder that Amazon has mushroomed into the online retail giant it is today; you can find pretty much anything on the site, from emergency lightbulbs, to last-minute party decorations for a surprise birthday bash.

It’s also a great place to shop for big-ticket and heavy goods, with fiercely competitive prices and express delivery right to your door. Regular sales mean you can always find something on offer or swoop in on a great deal, from mattresses and fridges to TVs and laundry airers.

It turns out that there is another way to whittle down the RRP, one that most shoppers know nothing about: Amazon Warehouse.

This corner of the website sells returned (known as open-box), used and pre-owned items for a snip of the cost. It spans almost every category and items only go back up for sale once they’ve passed Amazon’s strict quality-control checklist.

The grading system runs from the top, "like new", to "very good", "good" and finally, "acceptable". Everything has been checked for faults and repaired if necessary and there are also notes for missing parts or dented packaging, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

You may think that this means no refunds, but anything you purchase from Amazon Warehouse is sold with its usual return policy. So if you decide your new buy isn’t quite right, simply return it within 30 days for your money back.

So, what exactly is on offer? We’ve spotlighted some of the best offers in Amazon’s extensive warehouse to shed some light on the gems waiting to be snapped up.

This relatively small machine offers plenty of bang for your buck, with six functions to choose from: Air Fry, Max Crisp, Bake, Roast, Dehydrate, and Reheat.

Max Crisp is a great feature to use when you’re cooking straight from frozen, and there’s no need to pre-heat like you would with an oven either. In fact, it’s up to 50 per cent quicker than an oven and uses up to 75 per cent less fat than traditional deep frying methods.

The 5.2L pot can be removed for washing or stuck in the dishwasher for the ultimate convenience. Less time slaving over a hot stove means more time doing other, more fun stuff - and that can only be a good thing.
