What is Amazon Freevee and how to use the streaming service

Amazon Freevee is a new streaming service that is available to Amazon customers and allows you to watch TV shows and films for free at any time and anywhere. If you want to make the most of the new service, you just need to sign up for a free Amazon account.

When registered with Amazon, within the Prime Video app just look for the ‘Freevee - Popular Movies and TV - Free with Ads’ section. Once you’re logged in you should be able to start watching straight away.

Freevee is currently only available in the UK and US since launching at the end of April but the streaming service is set to become available in other countries including Germany. Here’s everything else you need to know about what Freevee is and what you can watch.

What is Amazon Freevee?

Amazon Freevee is a rebranded version of IMDb TV, the name has been changed to emphasise its connection to Amazon.

The added bonus of Amazon Freevee is you get information, cast and other key points for each title available. This service is provided by IMDb, which Amazon has owned since 1998.

Amazon Freevee can be accessed through Amazon’s Prime Video app and on Amazon Fire TV devices. You can stream Freevee content through your computer, tablet and smartphone through the Channels section of Prime Video.

Is Amazon Freevee free to use?

Amazon Freevee is a free streaming service that offers hundreds of movies and TV series to watch on demand with no subscription.

The only catch is Freevee advertises similar to terrestrial broadcast television or Youtube, thus you will have to watch one or two ads in-between streams.

What can I TV shows and films can I watch on Amazon Freevee?

There are plenty of good options on Amazon Freevee. Some of the original titles worth mentioning are: Bosch: Legacy, which is available from today, Almost Paradise, Bug Out, Alex Rider and Judy Justice.

If you’re into your classic films and documentaries you might be interested in hearing The Prince of Egypt, Big Fish, Control, Ronaldo and A League of Their Own are also available on the streaming service.

If you’re more of a TV person - Dawson’s Creek, 2 Broke Girls, Hell’s Kitchen and The A Team and more are also available.
