What Ibrahima Konate said to Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool training as Anfield decision is made

Liverpool morning digest for Wednesday, July 14.

What Ibrahima Konate said to Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool training

Liverpool got their pre-season preparations underway in Austria on Monday.

While the majority of the first-team have been afforded a break following Euro 2020 and the Copa America, those remaining journeyed to Salzburg as Jurgen Klopp gets his side ready for the start of the 2021-22 campaign.

And it was like the first day of school for new signing Ibrahima Konate who was greeted by staff with welcoming smiles during his first day of training with the Reds.

The Frenchman, who has joined from RB Leipzig, was told to enjoy the scenery as he was put through his paces with some gruelling laps but it didn't faze him.

During a quick chat with his new manager afterwards, Konate brushed off any idea that he found it tough and coolly joked, 'that was easy'.

Liverpool confirm Premier League decision that will impact Anfield capacity

Liverpool have confirmed that they are continuing with preparations to welcome back supporters for the new season - but Anfield may not be back to full capacity for the start of the campaign.

That is because the club have revealed that the Premier League have advised them that some restrictions with existing safety zones will remain in place, which in return will impact on the overall capacity at Anfield.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed on Monday evening that he was going ahead with plans to move to step four of his road map out of Covid restrictions.

Part of step four will see restrictions on how many people can attend large events, such as football games, removed.

And Liverpool have confirmed that the club is currently working through its matchday plans and will update fans accordingly and ahead of the start of the season next month.
