What I Imagine The 10 Best 'Destiny 2: Forsaken' Exotics Might Be

Destiny 2

This weekend, I wrote my list of the best Destiny 2: Forsaken Legendary weapons, made up of many I’ve been able to get my hands on throughout the course of play. I am planning to write lists for both the best exotic weapons and best pieces of exotic armor down the road, but given that exotic drop rates are what they are, I only have one piece of armor so far after about 120 hours of play.

Perhaps that will change, someday, but until that happens, I have to make do with what I’ve got. And what I’ve got is the ability to at least look at the exotics that do exist, and guess how good they might be.

So here, are the ten best Destiny 2: Forsaken exotics based on what I will assume they can do until I get them myself.

Destiny 2

10. The Sixth Coyote (Hunter Chest)

I mean, an exotic where you actually get to summon a solar coyote to attack your enemies? That’s pretty damn cool, and I have to imagine this thing wrecks mobs as your fire coyote eats everything in sight. This is one I can’t wait to get my hands on.

Destiny 2

9. Phoenix Protocol (Warlock Chest)

Wow, Phoenix huh? I have to guess that this means that it brings back the old Sunsinger super where you can resurrect yourself, which is going to be very meta-changing indeed. Glad to see this mechanic brought back through an exotic as that was one of my favorite subclasses in D1.

Destiny 2

8. One-Eyed Mask (Titan Helm)

Ah a spooky mask that surely scares your enemies and reduces their damage and accuracy. Love enemy debuffs so this one is going to be a keeper, and it looks so intimidating! Could be my new go-to instead of Mask of the Quiet One.

Destiny 2

7. Wavesplitter (Trace Rifle)

With a giant light bulb instead of a barrel, I’m guessing this blinds enemies with light, and maybe it has some sort of passive which increases brightness in dark areas, which could be useful. Also given that this is a PlayStation exclusive, I’m guessing it’s overpowered, so it’s going on the list.

Destiny 2

6. Trinity Ghoul (Bow)

A haunted bow that shoots ghosts is just what I want to see from Halloween. I have to imagine when you hit enemies with the ghosts it applies some sort of damage over time curse, which would have echoes of Thorn. This looks like a fun one.

Destiny 2

5. Geomag Stablizers (Warlock Legs)

Whoa, do these give you the ability to walk straight up walls? Sure seems like it. That’s definitely going to change the game for some of the jumping puzzles in the game. Kind of situational, but I like the creativity!

Destiny 2

4. Antaeus Wards (Titan Legs)

Stone legs that I’m guessing allow you to kick your enemies in the face with a stone boot instead of punching them. I know Titans are all about punching, but rock kicks to the face? That sounds like a switch even Zavala would approve of. Looking forward to booting some Hive in the mug.

Destiny 2

3. Gwisin Vest (Hunter Chest)

Judging by how festive this looks, complete with so many colors and tassles, I’m guessing this buffs your dance emotes in some way? Maybe it lets them do AOE damage? Kind of a bold choice for an exotic, but I want to give it a try, and it could be very good situationally.

Destiny 2

2. Queenbreaker Bow (Sniper Rifle)

This one is a little bit weird because clearly there’s a typo Bungie has yet to fix, as this is a sniper rifle, and not a bow like the others we’ve seen in Forsaken. But maybe it’s a sniper rifle that shoots arrows? If so, that’s rather brilliant and I take back what I just said. I want it.

Destiny 2

1. Ursa Furiousa (Titan Arms)

I mean, I have to rate the only exotic I actually own number one on a list like this, given that I have actually used it. Unfortunately I only unlocked my Titan’s new banner shield subclasses like a day ago which is what this is supposed to be used for, so that’s been an issue. But it has given me the ability to make “the right to bear arms” jokes, so that alone makes it worthwhile.

Alright, joke’s over, increase those drop rates Bungie so I can write real lists some time before Destiny 3 comes out.
