What Hugo Lloris said at half-time to inspire Tottenham's incredible comeback vs Ajax

Tottenham Hotspur are Champions League finalists.

It probably still hasn't sunk in to many supporters, but the Lilywhites will face Premier League rivals Liverpool in Madrid on June 1 with European football's biggest prize on the line.

Spurs were actually heading out of the competition, trailing 2-0 at half time in the second leg, and 3-0 on aggregate.

Another goal for the hosts and the feeling was that the north London outfit's hopes of progression would be done and dusted.

However, the second half was truly incredible as Tottenham launched a stunning comeback to win 3-2 on the night and go through on the away goals rule to set up a final against the Reds.

Lucas Moura will deservedly get all the plaudits as it was his stunning hat-trick in the absence of the injured top scorer Harry Kane which has made all of this possible.

But manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed the role his captain Hugo Lloris played in the comeback.

"Hugo is the best, he is an extraordinary person. I am truly very happy, I am very lucky to have him in my team. Thank you Hugo, you are incredible," Pochettino told reporters after the game, as per Get French Football News .

"Of course he is the best goalkeeper in the world and by far. After sorting out the problems from the 1st half, it was Hugo who had the last word in the dressing room: “Don’t give up!””

Lloris now has the chance to become a World Cup and Champions League winner within the space of 11 months.
