Henrikh Mkhitaryan's Arsenal future will be resolved at some point this summer.
The Armenia international is currently on loan in Italy with AS Roma and it's no secret that he's wanted back at the Stadio Olimpico next season on a permanent basis.
"Mkhi during this season got some injuries but he is returning now and he is proving his quality," head coach Paulo Fonseca told Sky Sports News last month. "Let's see. He is a player with great decisions on the pitch and I would also like to keep Mkhi in our team."
An example of Mkhitaryan's great decisions on the pitch were on display in a seven-goal thriller on Sunday evening.
Roma travelled to the Sardegna Arena to face Cagliari hoping to keep pace with Atalanta in the race for a top-four finish this season and the attacking midfielder was in great form.
After Nikola Kalinic had immediately cancelled out Joao Pedro's opener shortly before the half hour mark, the Croatia international had his second of the afternoon shortly before half-time thanks to Mkhitaryan.
The Arsenal loanee picks the ball up just inside his own half, swaps passes with Cengiz Under as he drives through midfield, touches the ball around a defender before cutting the ball back for Kalinic to put Roma 2-1 up.

To cap off an fine individual performance, the 31-year-old scored what turned out to be the winner in the 81st minute and likely increased Fonseca's hope of a permanent transfer this summer.
A permanent move for Mkhitaryan means Mikel Arteta could be in line to receive a surprise welcome windfall which will help boost his transfer budget for the summer window.
A deal taking Mkhitaryan to the Stadio Olimpico could see the Gunners pocket a fee in the region of £10m.
That was the figure which Forza Roma reported was rejected during the January transfer window.
However, the report did also state that Arsenal were said to be open to bids for the attacking midfielder.
Therefore, should the Giallorossi return with an improved offer then the north London outfit are likely to pocket a decent transfer fee and also move Mkhitaryan off the wage bill.
