What has Trump tweeted today? The latest Twitter posts from the US President and what they really mean

Donald Trump’s Twitter account provides an extraordinary unfiltered insight into what the President is doing and thinking in real time.

He posts on the social media site almost every day, often very early in the morning or late at night, sharing both official White House business and personal opinion.

To get the latest analysis of what POTUS is sharing with the world, read our rolling coverage of his account below:

Donald Trump has launched an angry attack on former acting FBI director Andrew McCabe after he revealed why he had ordered an investigation into whether the president obstructed justice.

Trump has criticised California for wasting government money on a bullet train project which began in 2013. It is predicted to cost $77bn (£60bn), so the president has demanded the state return the the $3.5bn (£2.7bn) it received to pay for the high-speed line linking San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Also at the El Paso rally, a Trump supporter launched an "incredibly violent attack" on a BBC reporter. The US president repeatedly whipped up the crowd’s anger over supposed media bias.

Donald Trump accused a Democrat governor of supporting the execution of babies, claimed border walls have been shown to reduce crime, and wildly overstated the size of his crowd during a string of falsehoods at a raucous rally in Texas.

The presidents latest tweets - and retweets - focus on his latest MAGA rally, which took place last night in El Paso, Texas.
