What has been said about Michy Batshuayi and his Chelsea future as transfer window looms

With so much being said about incomings at Chelsea as a result of their impending Fifa transfer ban those that are possibly looking for futures away from the club have been somewhat forgotten.

One of those players is Michy Batshuayi who has spent the second half of the season out on loan at Crystal Palace where he has made 11 appearances, scoring three goals so far.

His future at Stamford Bridge is very much up in the air - at 25-years-old he needs to be regularly playing football and would ideally have seen himself as a starter for a club by now, but for one reason or another it hasn't quite worked out that way.

Every word Maurizio Sarri just said on benching Hazard, Luiz contract and Loftus-Cheek's impact

He doesn't seem to fit into Maurizio Sarri's plans either, but with a possible transfer ban looming and with a striker problem at the club there could be a route back into favour for Batshuayi next season at Stamford Bridge.

Crystal Palace would ideally like him again next season but until the club meet to discuss transfers it isn't clear to Roy Hodgson whether or not they will have the funds to do so.

Here's what Hodgson had to say about the situation: “It has not been discussed yet so I couldn’t say.

“We we will have a meeting and until such time I have got no idea what finances and funds will be available.

“Batshuayi is a Chelsea player, so as far as I am concerned it will have to be a question as much for Chelsea as us. We can’t just presume that he is available.”

Luka Jovic scouting report: The striker Chelsea desperately need but it's all too late
