Harry Kane has dismissed talk that the Spurs team are tired in training during Mauricio Pochettino's sessions.
The Argentine is well known to work his squad extremely hard at Hotspur Way and speculation that the players are now suffering as a consequence of it has picked up due to the Lilywhites' poor form.
Slipping to embarrassing defeats against Bayern Munich and Brighton & Hove Albion prior to the international break, the team couldn't return to winning ways on Saturday as they equalised late on to salvage a 1-1 draw against Watford.
Now facing a crucial game in the Champions League against Red Star Belgrade after failing to win in their opening two European games, the England captain has opened up on the training sessions.
"There’s going to be speculation when things aren't going well, when you're not winning games, people will look from the outside for excuses, from our point of view we work hard every day," .
"We have worked hard since the manager came here to improve as players and as a team, that hasn't changed.
"It would be wrong to do more or less, we need to carry on doing what we have always done and that is keep working as hard as possible."
Spurs have enjoyed so much success since Pochettino arrived at the club in 2014 and last season they reached the Champions League final after some incredible results in the competition.
The team have just not kicked on since that final defeat against Liverpool and Kane believes it's merely a bump in the road.
"It’s probably the toughest time since I’ve been here," he added. "It’s just another challenge though.
"The road to success will always have bumps and this is just one of them."
