What happens with the Golden Boot if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ends level with Mohamed Salah?

The Premier League draws to a close today and, while Manchester City and Liverpool battle for the title, there is also another fight taking place for the Golden Boot.

Mohamed Salah entered the weekend as the leading scorer with 22 goals, two ahead of his closest rivals, but things took a twist during a frantic final day.

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero scored in the first half to take his tally up to 21 goals, just one shy of Salah, prior to two strikes from Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang following a midweek hat-trick against Valencia in the Europa League.

The one reason Mesut Ozil, Sokratis and Lucas Torreira were dropped by Arsenal at Burnley

He netted a brace against Burnley at Turf Moor on the final day of the season while Sadio Mane did the same for Liverpool in their match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It left Aubameyang, Mane and Salah all level on 22 goals.

But what happens if by the final whistle this trio have been unable to extend their tallies for the season to claim the award with the highest outright individual tally?

Unlike other competitions, which use assists to decide who would finish with the crown, the Premier League's rules state that in the event of a tie, the award will be shared.

The last time this happened was in the 2010/11 Premier League season where Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov and Manchester City's Carlos Tevez finished top of the scoring charts with 20 goals each.
