What happened when Chris Gayle visited the RCB fan in hospital after his six broke her nose

Known for enthralling cricket fans world over, veteran West Indies batsman Chris Gayle also carries a caring heart, which highlighted in his visit to a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fan during one of the seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

A young girl had her nose broken when one of Gayle's sixes during an IPL game hit her on the face, but when Gayle visited the RCB fan to ask about her well-being, her spirit floored him.

“The ball ricocheted off the wall and hit a young girl in the nose. Immediately, I went straight to the hospital and saw her with bloody nose and bloody clothes," Gayle, who represented RCB in seven IPL seasons from 2011 to 2017, told former India batsman Robin Uthappa on the ‘Home of Heroes’ show on JioCinema.

"She was like, ‘why are you sad? Don’t worry, hit more sixes!’ That was so amazing man! She helped me feel better by telling me that even when she’s in pain, she wanted me to hit more sixes," Gayle said on the show.

"It was a touching moment. The next game, every fan had a placard saying, ‘please break my nose’, so I could go visit them in the hospital.”

Besides RCB, Gayle has also represented Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL.
