What happened when Chelsea's FA Cup quarter-final tie vs Leicester City was simulated

Chelsea were due to face Leicester City in an FA Cup quarter-final tie on Saturday afternoon.

However, with football in England suspended because of the coronavirus outbreak, the Blues' trip to the King Power Stadium was postponed and there's no sign of when the tie will take place - if it does.

With that said, in an alternative universe the game did go ahead.

How Christian Pulisic is helping during the coronavirus pandemic

Thanks to the power of video games, Leicester City vs Chelsea was simulated on FIFA 20 and the official FA Cup Twitter account shared what happened with all four quarter-final ties.

And the final score at the King Power Stadium was not grea news for Frank Lampard and his squad.

A solitary goal from Foxes midfielder Youri Tielemans settled the tie in the home side's favour meaning Brendan Rodgers' team joined Arsenal and both Manchester clubs in the semi-final of the competition.

In addition, this result would have meant Chelsea failed to beat Leicester on three separate occasions this season.

Both Premier League meetings ended in a draw with Wilfred Ndidi actually netting the equaliser at Stamford Bridge to deny Lampard victory in his first home game as Blues head coach.

This would also serve as a major blow to Lampard who said after the fourth round win at Hull City that he was targeting success in this competition.

"We just want to win it. We respect the FA Cup," he told reporters. "I do, the players do and this club has been fortunate to win it a number of times in the modern era.

"So we want to win it, I don’t think we evaluate it like what’s the best chance of us with top four and is it more important than the FA Cup.

"People will argue that but I don’t need to get into that battle.

"We are professionals so can we win the game and get to the next round."
