Timo Werner was the centre of attention during Chelsea's 2-0 win over Newcastle United on Monday night.
The Germany international had a hand in both goals at Stamford Bridge as he teed up Olivier Giroud to break the deadlock before turning the ball home at the back post to get on the scoresheet himself.
And with that strike, Werner 's long Premier League goal drought was finally broken.
Having not netted in the competition since Chelsea beat Sheffield United all the way back in November, the relief on the striker's face was for all to see as there was a VAR check before the goal was officially allowed to stand.
However, Werner came in for some rough treatment immediately after his goal.
Prior to setting up Giroud, the Blues ace required treatment for a facial injury after an accidental clash with Jamal Lewis that left him with a cut lip.
And after scoring to make it 2-0, Werner was immediately met with a forearm to the face as he chased after the ball following Newcastle's restart.
This particular moment was spotted and discussed amongst some Chelsea fans on Reddit as it was noticeable that the 24-year-old was all smiles just seconds before getting hit in the face.
Whilst it did look painful for Werner, many supporters found the funny side to it.
