What happened to the Texans’ Round 4 pick for WR Demaryius Thomas?

The Houston Texans traded a 2019 fourth-round pick and swapped places in the seventh-round with the Denver Broncos to acquire receiver Demaryius Thomas at the trade deadline last season.

Whatever happened to that 125th overall pick in Round 4? Denver never used it. In fact, the Broncos parlayed it with their second and sixth-round selections to acquire the Cincinnati Bengals second-round pick. Denver then drafted Missouri quarterback Drew Lock.

The Bengals used pick 125 to take Arizona State defensive lineman Renell Wren.

If the Texans would have held on to the pick, they could have drafted Georgia receiver Riley Ridley, USC cornerback Iman Marshall, Memphis running back Tony Pollard, Houston cornerback Isaiah Johnson, and Notre Dame linebacker Drue Tranquill, all of whom were the five next picks after No. 125 overall.

Thomas caught 23 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns in his seven games for Houston before tearing his Achilles in Week 16 at the Philadelphia Eagles.
