Jake Davison shot five people in August 2021 during the Plymouth shooting, having previously been referred to a counter-terrorism programme by his mother.
Davison had an obsession with involuntary celibate (incel) culture as well as a strong interest in the US and guns.
But what happened to Davison and where is he now one year on from the shooting?
Here's everything you need to know.
What happened to Jake Davison?
Davison, who was an apprentice crane operator, shot his mum following an argument and then went on a killing spree in Keyham, Plymouth - killing Sophie Martyn, three; her father Lee, 43; Stephen Washington, 59, and Kate Shepherd, 66.

The gunman's attack went on for a total of 12 minutes and the incident took place just a few weeks after his shotgun and gun licence had been given back to him by the local police after he assaulted two teenagers.
Following Davison's rampage on Biddick Drive in Keyham where he shot four victims, he walked to Henderson Place.
When he reached the road, he shot and fatally wounded 66-year-old Kate Shepherd, telling a passing resident that there was "nothing to worry about, mate".
Where is Jake Davison now?

Shortly after his killing spree, a passer-by saw Davison and described him as "walking like [he] was on patrol, like a soldier with a gun" and with a "blank expression".
At 6.23pm, Davison shot himself dead on Henderson Place.
In an inquest into the shooting, it was found that Davison had been referred to the Prevent scheme - which aims to stop individuals from being radicalised as terrorists - by his mother Maxine in 2016.
It was later revealed that Davison was hooked on porn and had an obsession with guns from a young age.
Prior to his death, Davison described himself as as a “a terminator”, “a f***ing fat ugly virgin” and an “incel” – slang for involuntary celibate – in an online rant online about mass shootings and his sexual frustration at still being a virgin.
After the Plymouth shooting, it was also revealed that he had raged at an autistic man in Plymouth city centre for carrying a support doll just weeks before his murder rampage, calling him “a paedo”.
Following the tragedy, a vigil was held to commemorate the victims of the attack, with hundreds gathering to show their respects.
There is a candlelit vigil planned today (August 12) at North Down Crescent Park at 7pm to mark the anniversary of the shooting.
