What happened to murderer Luka Magnotta after 'Don't F**k With Cats' documentary

One of the more disturbing documentary's to hit Netflix of the past 12 months has to be Don’t F**k With Cats: Hunting An Internet Killer.

This tells the story of twisted murderer Luka Magnotta and the internet sleuths that helped track him down in Canada following a global manhunt.

The Facebook group was mobilised after Magnotta had posted videos online of him torturing and killing kittens.

It took an even sinister turn when, in May 2012, Magnotta brutally murdered Chinese international student Jun Lin, filming it all and posting it online as “1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick”.

The dismembered body was mailed to various political parties in Toronto and the documentary makes for uncomfortable viewing at times.

Lin was also dismembered, and his body parts were mailed to various political parties in Toronto.

Magnotta was eventually tracked down and arrested and in 2014, he was convicted of first-degree murder.

Serving a life sentence, Magnotta is now 37-years-old but his time behind bars has not been a quiet time.

Montreal Gazette has reported that in 2015, Magnotta was allowed to sign up for Canadian Inmates Connect, a inmate dating website that covered Port-Cartier Prison, Quebec, where he was incarcerated.

Naturally, this caused quite a stir as Magnotta had found his victim, Lin, through a dating site.

Magnotta removed himself from the site though, telling the administrators: "Thank you for your service. I found what I was looking for.”

Two years later, in 2017, Magnotta married fellow inmate Anthony Jolin, who is also a convicted killer.

Anna Yourkin, Magnotta's mother who also appears in the Netflix documentary, was their witness.

Magnotta was not allowed to spend any time alone with his husband after they tied the knot.

The prison did not allow them to spend time alone after getting married.

Yourkin was seen in the documentary finding it difficult to believe that her son was the 'monster' being portrayed and the National Post has reported that she is still "proud to be his mother”.
