What happened to Fun House cast as Part Sharp reunites with Melanie and Martina

Kids who grew up in the 90's may remember sprinting home from school to watch the latest episode of Fun House.

The CITV children's show aired from February 1989 to December 1999. Each episode featured two teams each consisting of a boy and girl representing schools from around the UK with three rounds in each show, as the kids went head to head to be crowned the champions.

The rounds consisted of messy games, the Fun Kart Grand Prix and finally a run around the Fun House. To win the power prize, the contestants not only had to grab the tag but they also had to answer one question correctly within 10 seconds.

Recently host Pat Sharp sent viewers on a trip down memory lane as he reunited with his co-stars - twins Melanie and Martina Grant. The bubbly blondes, who first got the job back in 1989, were loved for their energetic pom-pom waving while dressed in identical yellow and red cheerleading outfits.

Now the twins are both mothers in their 50s. However, they have not lost their bubbly, energetic personalities as they jumped at the chance to post with their former colleague.

Taking to Twitter, Pat posted an image of him beaming into the camera with the women twinning in identical outfits behind him. Melanie and Martina both stood with their arms waving in the air as Pat captioned it: "FunHouse twins alert."

The post has since been liked more than 13,000 times with many fans calling for the show to make a comeback. One user said: "Need to bring back the #Funhouse for Saturday Nights Tv Great Fun @patsharp @funhouse_twins. Come on@ITVor@skytv @channel5_tv @Channel4 Need some classic 80s / 90s Game Shows back".

Another user said: "By far my favourite show as a kid, gutted I never got on it and now I’m way too old if it did make a comeback." Meanwhile, a third user said: "My childhood right here... Now this is a show they should bring back, children's afterschool and Saturday morning tv is just not the same anymore for my kids.."

In 2020, the cast all appeared on This Morning to promote Pat's book - Re-Run the Fun: My Life As Pat Sharp. The twin cheerleaders who represented the red team and the yellow team on the show, show up as a pre-recorded message to congratulate him on his new autobiography.

Martina said: "Hi Pat, hi Phil, Hi Holly, I'm one of the twins from Fun House but Pat you know that anyway. Just flicked through the book to find my name, but who doesn't do that."
