Love Island is back on our screens for the first ever winter edition - and the drama is already hotting up.
A fresh batch of singletons are hoping to find love and make it all the way to the final, but as Shakespeare put it, the course of true love near did run smooth and last night's (Monday January 13) episode saw identical twins Eve and Jess stir things up.
After their shock arrival at the beginning of the series opener, the sisters had the chance to get to know all of the male Islanders before each choosing to couple up with one them - leaving two female contestants single.
For those who didn't manage to watch last night's episode, here's a recap of the main action...
What happened on Love Island last night?
- After their dramatic arrival, twins Jess and Eve spent some time getting to know the other Islanders before choosing who to couple up with.
- This being Love Island, this consisted of the duo “pulling [the boys] for a chat” - often resulting in a slightly awkward two-on-one interview dynamic.
- Shaughna and Leanne seemed especially nervous at the prospect of the twins’ decision, as the sisters seemed to be particularly interested in getting to know Callum and Mike.
- The Spill The Tea challenges saw the Islanders get to know each other very well indeed.
- Each contestant had to read out a fact about another person in the villa - and then kiss the person they thought the statement might be about (though in time-honoured Love Island fashion, many seemed to just, you know, kiss the person they wanted to kiss).
- The challenge saw Paige reveal that she is the ex-girlfriend of Lewis Capaldi, while Eve claimed that she had received messages from Kylie Jenner’s ex, Tyga.

- Mike reassured Leanne, telling her that she could trust in “his character and [him] as a person.”
- Before making their big decision, the twins got into an argument about their choices, with Jess telling Eve: “I can’t believe you made that decision. How come you made that decision?”
- Jess then said that she wouldn’t argue over a guy - but not before telling her sister that she was “annoying [her] so much.” Siblings, hey?
- Then it was time for the twins to reveal who they wanted to couple up with.
- Jess opted to pair up with Mike, while Eve chose Callum - leaving Leanne and Shaughna single.
- The Islanders then received a text telling them that there will be another recoupling in a few days’ time - and whoever is left single afterwards will be at risk of leaving the competition.
- Judging from the teaser clip, it looks like Eve and Jess’s decisions will send shockwaves through the villa...
