What happened on Hartcliffe Way? Man taken to hospital after serious crash

A man was taken to hospital and remains in a serious condition after a crash on Hartcliffe Way yesterday (Friday, October 1).

Emergency services were called to the road near Knowle West after a collision happened at about 4pm.

The collision, which took place near Hengrove Way roundabout, closed Hartcliffe Way in both directions for several hours.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area and there were long traffic queues.

At about 7.30pm, the location of the closure was reduced to an area between Parson Street and Headley Lane as the crash investigation work continued.

And the local highways authority were called out to reopen the road just before midnight.

Police are asking possible witnesses to call 101 and give log 699 of 1/10.
