John Terry was back at Chelsea on Monday evening.
The club legend and former captain was in the opposition dugout as Aston Villa held the Blues to a 1-1 draw to continue their impressive start to the Premier League campaign.
It's the second time Terry has been back at Stamford Bridge following his exit at the end of the 2016/2017 season and then subsequent retirement the following year.
Taking to social media after his Villa side were beaten 2-1 by the Blues over a year ago, an emotional Terry sent a classy message to Frank Lampard, Jody Morris, and the Chelsea supporters.
"Incredible to be back at the Bridge last night and see some familiar faces," he wrote on Instagram.
"Very humbled and thankful for the reception I received."
As mentioned above, Terry's faired a lot better on his latest return to the Bridge as Anwar El Ghazi's second half equaliser cancelled out Olivier Giroud's opener.
And Terry had a couple of special moments ahead of kick-off in west London.
Firstly he shared a warm embrace with Tammy Abraham whom he worked with when the striker was on loan at Villa Park.
Furthermore, Terry shared an exchange with Morris who is Lampard's assistant at the Bridge.
Abraham was an unused substitute against Villa, despite Chelsea chasing a winner in the final 20 minutes.
The result means the Blues have climbed back above Tottenham in the table - by virtue of a superior goal difference - but could drop out of the top six if results elsewhere this week go against them.
Speaking after the game, Lampard said he was impressed with his side's performance.
"It was a draw against a good team. The performance was good. I thought we deserved to win the game but we didn't," Lampard told reporters. "We've come through a difficult patch knowing we want to improve.
"Where it's left us is we saw a side today that showed the attitude of the team, the fight, without having the final bit in the final third. We just have to do more of the same. We've had a funny patch but it remains close at the top of the league.
"Off a really good run we've had a difficult time and today I saw some really good signs out there."
