What happened after Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley last time as Tommy Fury pulls out

Tommy Fury has pulled out of his hotly-anticipated grudge match with Jake Paul less than two weeks before the two were set to meet in the ring.

The pair had exchanged plenty of barbs before finally agreeing to terms on a fight, with all systems go for them to face each other in Florida on December 18.

But Fury has now pulled out of the contest, with the news set to be confirmed after Paul’s team were informed late last night of the decision, according to Mirror Fighting sources.

All eyes will be on what Paul does next, with Tyron Woodley looking set to replace Fury as he comes up against Paul for a second time.

The UFC star had been calling for a rematch against the YouTuber, and he looks set to finally get his wish as he eyes up some revenge.

What happened when Woodley last met Paul?

Woodley became the latest victim to Paul’s undefeated start in professional boxing when the pair met in Cleveland back on August.

Paul won the bout via split decision after the eight-round bout went the distance, with the social media star recording the biggest win of his career.

What happened afterwards?

Having lost to Paul, Woodley agreed to undergo a forfeit on the proviso that he would get a rematch.

The UFC fighter had “I love Jake Paul” tattooed on his finger, but Paul didn’t hold up his end of the bargain, instead electing to set up his fight against Fury.

Woodley didn’t take too kindly to Paul going back on his promise, telling MMAJunkie : “Jake Paul is a b***h. He didn’t want to fight, like, ‘You did it too late.’

“No, you just didn’t want to fight, and they gave you a way out, and you took it and ran. It’s like a little kid in a playground, ‘Na, na, na, na, na,’ when they know they didn’t really win.”

When will the rematch take place?

Having agreed to replace Fury, the fight will still go ahead on the originally planned date of December 18, giving Woodley just 12 days to prepare.

He shouldn’t be too far off though, having been preparing himself for a January fight anyway after promising fans that he would fight four times in four different disciplines next year.

Woodley was set to face Dan Hardy in the UK, although that bout remains up in the air as he prepares for Paul now.
