What Gary Lineker has said about Chelsea's Kepa playing for Spain ahead of Man United star

He's firmly established as Chelsea's number one goalkeeper, but Kepa Arrizabalaga looks to have announced himself as the main man on the international scene.

The position of first choice stopper for the Spanish national team has been fiercely competitive for many years with the likes of Iker Casillas and Victor Valdes previously competing for the jersey.

Times have moved on now and there's a new rivalry for the number one shirt.

Alongside Kepa is Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea who has previously been regarded as Spain's first choice stopper.

But that looks to be changing.

The Chelsea man was named in the starting line-up for Spain's Euro 2020 qualifier with Romania where he fully justified his place with a series of fine saves.

Kepa's upturn in form has come at the perfect time with the Man United man failing to recapture his form which previously had him hailed as the best goalkeeper on the world.

But with one save in particular, Gary Lineker hailed the Chelsea stopper's save from Reading's George Pușcaș after being selected over his Premier League rival.

He said: "Kepa selected ahead of De Gea and made a stunning save from Puskas, yes Puskas, in injury time to secure Spain’s victory."

If the Blues' man can maintain level of performance then it won't be long until he has the Spain number one jersey wrapped up for good.
