Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes unintentionally predicted his dream transfer to north London one year before the move occurred.
The Brazilian signed for the Gunners last summer from French outfit Lille for a reported £27m and has quickly settled in Mikel Arteta's squad.
The 23-year-old was one of the first names on the teamsheet right up until mid-December, where he missed the defeat to Everton through suspension and was subsequently ruled out for the following three matches with coronavirus.
In recent weeks, following David Luiz's red card against Wolves, Gabriel has re-established himself in the squad and has started the past two Premier League matches.
Speaking ahead of the clash against Manchester City, Gabriel opened up about his move to Arsenal and revealed a remarkable coincidence.
One year prior to his move, having seen teammate Nicolas Pepe move from Lille to the Emirates Stadium, Gabriel decided to purchase an Arsenal shirt and put his own name on the back.
"When I bought the shirt, I never imagined they would one day offer me a contract," he told the Daily Mail.
"Arsenal was a team I loved, and I always knew I would love them even more if I played for them. I love London, but I also like to be at home.
"I'm not a guy who likes to go out. I stay at home and play a lot of Call of Duty. My life has always been focused on training first, and becoming a better player, then having fun."
