Frank Lampard has heaped praise on super substitute Christian Pulisic, who has now assisted three goals in his last three matches from the bench.
Pulisic's latest contribution came on the road at Ajax tonight as Chelsea defeated the Dutch giants 1-0 in the Champions League.
Chelsea improved as the game wore on and following key substitutions such as Pulisic's introduction and Michy Batshuayi coming on, there looked to be only one winner.
Batshuayi brushed off the disappointment of an earlier missed chance when he fired home a great ball from the left by Pulisic after a neat run by the USA international.
It was arguably Pulisic's injection of pace on the ball and his close control most of all which put Ajax on the back in the final stages and Lampard had nothing but praise for the 21-year-old post-match.
"It was getting to that point (for changes) due to the input the boys had put in," Lampard told BT Sport.
"Add the fact that Christian (Pulisic) had changed the last two games with two assists (helped with the decision). He did it again and I thought his performance for the last 25 minutes was outstanding."
Lampard added that while the aforementioned duo played key roles, it was an impressive team performance above all else which laid the foundation for the important victory.
"I am so happy. To play and beat them [Ajax] and deserve it means we were top class all over the pitch," Lampard added.
"I could go through the entire team because it was a great team performance."
