Chelsea are currently out in Japan as they step up their preparations for the 2019/20 Premier League season.
Frank Lampard's side take on Kawasaki Frontale on Friday after travelling to Ireland last week to play Bohemians and St Patrick's Athletic.
It actually won't be long before Chelsea make the journey to Manchester United on the opening weekend and the new head coach will want all his players fit and firing for the showdown encounter at Old Trafford.
Ross Barkley will be one player hoping to win a place in the starting XI given the midfield options at Lampard's disposal.
Speaking to the club's official website about the first couple of weeks of pre-season training, the England international opened up on life under the new head coach and revealed that the club's record goalscorer has had the players putting in the "extra miles" already with a long season ahead of them.
"It’s been really good to be back together with all the boys," said the midfielder. "We are working hard. The training sessions have been really intense.
"We have been up and running with the new manager straight away and we have put in a lot of extra miles.
"There’s only Christian [Pulisic] who needs to bed in, plus some of the young lads who will get a chance.
"There is so much talent in the squad.
"We have got a new manager, a legend of the club, and a new playing style, so it’s going to be an exciting season. We’re all thinking positively."
