What Facundo Pellistri has said about his future amid Manchester United transfer interest

Manchester United target Facundo Pellistri has previously stated he would welcome a move to Europe as the club attempts to secure his services on transfer deadline day.

United are trying to complete a deal to sign the Uruguayan teenager alongside Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles, who underwent medicals on Sunday and are due to be unveiled on Monday.

MEN Sport understands discussions are ongoing over a move for the 18-year-old winger in a deal which is thought to be worth in the region of around €10m.

The Uruguayan has created plenty of excitement in his native country after he was handed the No.10 shirt at Penarol ahead of the 2020-21 season and so far he has a goal and an assist in five Copa Libertadores appearances.

Speaking in August, Pellistri admitted that he would be interested in a move move to Europe after links emerged claiming he was joining Boca Juniors.

“Who would not like to play in Boca? It is a great club but if something from Europe appeared, I would take the leap,” Pellistri said.
