What Everton players are saying about Moise Kean in training as Theo Walcott and Tom Davies challenged

Gylfi Sigurdsson has asserted Moise Kean will score goals for Everton following his summer transfer from Juventus.

Kean made his full Premier League debut in the 3-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend and the Icelandic international has revealed his goalscoring instincts are clear to see in training.

When asked if he's excited by the Italian teenager's potential, Sigurdsson replied: "Yeah, he's a handful.

"He's obviously very young and has come back later into training but he's a goalscorer. You can see that. He's good in the box and around the box and he's going to score goals."

Another summer arrival, Alex Iwobi, has scored two goals in his first two starts for Everton.

Iwobi's arrival meant Theo Walcott was left out of Marco Silva's squad entirely for the visit of Wolves alongside Tom Davies.

Sigurdsson, however, believes the duo will be needed during the course of the campaign and has challenged them to continue vying for a place in the team.

"Of course for him, for an attacking player, it's nice to get that first goal early on," the 29-year-old said of Iwobi.

"It's good for the confidence and all of the other boys, not just him, [with] Fabian [Delph] coming back from injury and Djibril [Sidibe, who made his Everton debut against Lincoln City] there's good depth in the squad at the moment.

"Hopefully the boys who have been injured and not in the squad can really push us because we need every player in the squad."

Everton travel to Sheffield Wednesday in the next round of the Carabao Cup later this month and Sigurdsson is determined to push for silverware under Silva.

"This club wants to do well in any competition," he explained. "We talked about it last season, especially with the FA Cup and it's no different from the Premier League. We go into every game to win it."
