What Everton full-back linked with Bristol City, Wigan Athletic and Brentford has said about his future

Bristol City have today been linked with a move for Everton full-back Antonee Robinson.

The Robins are who spent last season on loan at Wigan Athletic.

City are on the lookout for two left-backs following the departure of Lloyd Kelly to Bournemouth and the end of Jay Dasilva's loan spell.

Whilst talks are still progressing with Dasilva over a potential permanent move from parent club Chelsea, and are said to be in a positive place, the Robins have now also been linked with USA international Robinson.

Yet City face competition for his signature, with Wigan and Brentford both also interested.

Indeed, Wigan reportedly placed a bit of £1.9m for Robinson earlier this week.

The player's future is up in the air due to the fact Leighton Baines is staying at Goodison Park but, during his loan spell at the DW Stadium, Robinson said his goal was to make the breakthrough at Everton.

He told  Wigan Today : "It’s all progress towards the main goal which is to make the breakthrough at Everton.

"The manager’s been in touch with me, he keeps telling me what I need to work on and stuff.

"He’s been pleased with me for what I’ve done this season so I don’t see why he wouldn’t give me a chance next season."

However, Baines' new contract could mean that Robinson departs Everton this summer, with the Toffees looking to cut their wage bill.
