What Erling Haaland told Man City teammates after FA Cup final win over Manchester United

Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland led a big rallying cry as the club took another huge step towards the treble by defeating Manchester United 2-1 in Saturday’s FA Cup final.

A double from Ilkay Gundogan - including an opener after 12 seconds, an FA Cup final record - was enough to see the Blues to the win despite Bruno Fernandes’ 33rd-minute penalty.

A victory over Inter Milan in next weekend’s Champions League final will see City become the first team to do the treble since United in 1999. After clasping hands on the Premier League trophy a fortnight ago, Haaland looked elated as he lifted his second trophy since signing last summer.

At full-time, he made sure to reiterate a message to his teammates, which was subsequently then repeated by his colleagues. Cameras caught the Norwegian repeatedly saying "one more" to the City players.

This was later confirmed by Guardiola when he said: “All the players were telling each other ‘one more to go’ as they were hugging each other. The players feel we are in a position which we may never be in again.

“What we have done as a team is incredible, five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, Carabao Cups, but we have to win the Champions League for us to be recognised how we deserve.

“They are different teams and mentality. That team was so special while we are in our second Champions League final in three years.

“I said to the players you have to put the pressure on yourself. To be recognised as something good you have to win in Europe. That’s how it works.”

Guardiola was seen having a brief congratulatory exchange with Sir Alex Ferguson - the only manager to have won the English treble - during the celebrations.
