There has been bizarre scenes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following the FA Cup fifth round tie against Norwich City.

Eric Dier, who got the ball rolling from the spot, climbed into the stands to remonstrate with a Tottenham supporter immediately after the penalty shootout was concluded.

It's not clear as to why the England international took such action, but as seen in the video clip below he was clearly very angry.

As uploaded to Twitter by @jselby123 , Dier can be seen being held back by the stewards.

Dier appears to be saying "my brother" but the reasons for his actions are still unclear at the time of writing.

Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho was asked about the incident during his post-match press conference and it would appear that Dier's younger brother was insulted.

"I don't think that belongs to the game," Mourinho told reporters. "The game was a fantastic representation of the FA Cup, but I cannot run away from the question.

"I think Eric Dier did what we as professionals cannot do but when someone insults you and your family is involved, especially your young brother.

"This person insulted Eric, the younger brother was not happy with the situation and Eric was not happy.

"We as professionals cannot do what he did."
