What Emerson Royal did when Harry Kane scored to ignite electric Tottenham crowd vs Arsenal

Emerson Royal boosted the atmosphere even further after Harry Kane opened the scoring in the north London derby.

The Brazilian defender had a solid opening 20 minutes before Heung-Min Son was fouled by Cedric and referee Paul Tierney awarded Antonio Conte's side a penalty. Kane stepped up with confidence and tucked the ball away into the bottom right corner to give the hosts a crucial lead early in the game.

Arsenal started the game the stronger side, pressing high up the pitch and unsettling the Spurs defence, but Conte's side stayed resolute and soon took the lead. Royal got in on the celebrations in front of the home crowd as the players huddled in front of the north stand.

Amidst the celebrations of Spurs' opening goal, a fan from the north stand threw a white flare onto the pitch near Kane and co as they celebrated taking the lead. Royal joined the celebrations by picking up the flare and dancing in front of the home fans, waving the flare above his head.

The atmosphere was bouncing before kick-off as the south stand held up a 'dare, dream, do' tifo and Gary Neville described the noise as 'deafening'. Royal added to the electric atmosphere by having a dance of his own during the celebrations of Kane's opener.

Harry Kane has since made it 2-0 to the home side with Rob Holding being sent off for Arsenal after picking up his second booking for a foul on Son Heung-min. Should the result stay the same, Spurs will close the gap to Arsenal to a single point in the race for Champions League qualification.
