What Mendy did vs Brighton
Mendy hasn't started a game since Chelsea beat West Ham in Thomas Tuchel's final league game in charge. The Senegalese keeper has found himself below Kepa in the pecking order due to a mixture of injury, form and managerial change.
Graham Potter's first use of Mendy was in the second half against Brighton and you could tell that he was chomping at the bit to be back out on the field.
As Kepa first showed signs of injury, Mendy was the first to alert the medical staff and set about preparing himself for an appearance. At first, it looked premature as the Spanish keeper continued going until half-time, but Mendy was out after the break.

He made two brilliant saves in the final moments of the match but wasn't able to stop Pascal Gross from scoring in injury time. He looks set to play against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday.

Hudson-Odoi and Werner share chat
Two Chelsea attackers that both left the club this summer have met up in Bundesliga action as Callum Hudson-Odoi and Timo Werner went head to head in RB Leipzig's clash against Bayer Leverkusen.
Werner was sold by Chelsea for £25 just two summers after joining for £47m whereas Hudson-Odoi was sent on loan to Germany after not making the cut in Thomas Tuchel's first game of the season.
Before the match the pair were seen embracing each other and sharing a private word. This came hours before Tuchel's first words since being sacked last month were revealed. The German said: "I loved every day at Chelsea. It came to an end too early for me, but it was out of my hands. This is also what you sign up for."

De Zerbi explains targets
Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has revealed the two Chelsea players he targeted in the Seagulls' 4-1 victory.
After going into the break 3-0 up Chelsea came out stronger but the damage had been done with two attackers playing at wingback and a lack of defensive cover from midfield.
That was part of Brighton's plans, according to the new boss - who got his first win in charge - as he explained the ploy to isolate Chelsea's backline. He said, "We prepared the game one-to-one with Mitoma with Chalobah and one-to-one Solly March against Cucurella. But Trossard was fantastic, Adam Lallana the same. All the players were fantastic."
