Since you’re here, chances are you’ve stumbled across an odd trumpet in PEAK, named Scoutmaster’s Bugle, and have no idea what it does. Before you try blowing into it, you’ll want to know what this shady-looking instrument is really built for—and whether using it is a clever move or a huge mistake.
As you climb the “PEAK” and battle through its unforgiving biomes, you’ll encounter several world-spawn items that can either give you valuable boosts or weigh you down with nasty debuffs. In a game this risky, hitting “use” on random stuff—especially a weird blowhorn you found in the middle of nowhere—isn’t the smartest idea.
Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered with a complete guide that breaks down the Scoutmaster’s Bugle and its use in PEAK.
Scoutmaster’s Bugle use in PEAK

The Scoutmaster’s Bugle is exactly what its name suggests: it lets you summon the Scoutmaster for a boss fight-style encounter in PEAK. But before you take on the challenge, know that it isn’t an easy one.
Once summoned, the Scoutmaster locks onto you with the intent to grab and toss you straight off the cliff. Forget about fighting back—it’s completely invincible. Your only option is endurance: dodge its advances by running as fast as you can and survive long enough to tire it out.
To use the Scoutmaster’s Bugle properly and successfully call the Scoutmaster to your world, you just need to continue blowing into the bugle until the yellow loading wheel in the middle of the screen completes. The Scoutmaster appears after a minor delay, usually spawning a few meters away from you in most cases. Don’t let it close the distance at any cost.
How to find a Scoutmaster’s Bugle in PEAK
If you want to relive the horrifying Scoutmaster experience in a future run for some reason but don’t know where to look for another bugle, we’re here to help.
In PEAK, the Scoutmaster’s Bugle is a rare spawn, found in Luggage boxes and Ancient Chests, or by interacting with the Ancient Statue, which you’ll find at the beginning of every biome near the Campfire. It’s also exclusive to the single-player mode, meaning if you’re queued up with your friends, you can’t obtain this bugle through any of the means mentioned above. That said, you can use cheats (Cheat Engine scripts) to bypass this restriction.
If you’re in multiplayer and want to summon the Scoutmaster without the bugle in PEAK, just wander off on your own. Keep climbing away from your party, and the stick man will eventually appear to punish you for breaking the number-one rule in Scoutmaster Myer’s handbook.
