What does Texans RB Carlos Hyde mean when he says ‘you can’t stop us’?

The NFL on CBS cameras caught Houston Texans running back Carlos Hyde mouthing to his former Kansas City Chiefs teammates of all but one offseason.

“You can’t stop us,” Hyde seemed to say.

What exactly does that mean? Was it a message to Hyde’s former teammates, or was it a deeper statement?

“With the offense clicking like that, it’s so hard to stop us,” Hyde told reporters after the game. “I was caught up in the moment right there. I’ve got to watch my language though. But I was just caught up in the moment.”

What a moment it was for the Texans at the end of their 31-24 win over the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Hyde tallied 116 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries as part of Houston’s 472 yards of total offense. The Texans’ offense possessed the ball for 39:48 compared to the Chiefs’ 20:12.

Indeed, it was as though the Houston offense could not be stopped.

“When our offense is moving the ball like that, things are clicking, it’s just hard to stop us,” Hyde said. “There are so many playmakers on this offense. It’s a beauty.”

The beauty continues as the Texans improve to 4-2 on the season and have first place in the division for now. The Indianapolis Colts, who last defeated the Chiefs in Week 5, are on a bye.
