What does Kirk Herbstreit think of Ohio State after an idle-week?

Rarely showing bias to his alma mater, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit once again has the Buckeyes at the top of his post-Week 7 rankings. If you’re counting, that’s now three weeks in a row. Georgia fell out, and the Badgers jumped in — the only major differences from last week.

Saturday’s most entertaining game, Florida vs. LSU saw the Joe Burrow-led side come out on top, defeating the No. 7 Gators. That victory allowed LSU to stay as a top-four team, and it pushed it above Ohio State and many others in some of the polls.

For now, there may not be a single list better than Herbstreit’s. He has OSU at the top followed by Alabama and Clemson. LSU, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin round out the top-six.

Here’s how he phrased it on Twitter.

LSU and Oklahoma have the two most notable victories, but Alabama and Ohio State have shown no flaws on either side of the ball in any game so far this season.

On the other hand, Clemson, led by Trevor Lawrence, have had a cakewalk schedule but will continue as a top-four team due to their sustained greatness and returning personnel from last year’s championship roster.

Because — seemingly — college football is the only sport in which you get credit for the previous year.

An undefeated Badgers team takes the place of Georgia after Wisconsin stomped Michigan State 38-0. Formerly No. 3-ranked Georgia lost to South Carolina at home, a loss that they may be able to be recovered from. Time will tell.

The Buckeyes took a week off and will be back this Friday night against Northwestern on the shores of Lake Michigan.
