What does dead ting mean? Love Island insult from islander Amber Gill explained

Love Island fans rushed frantically to Google last night for an explanation after islander Amber Gill called newbie  Joanna Chimonides a "dead ting".

The Geordie lass was left 'fuming' after Michael Griffiths dumped her for Joanna.

She found out when she came back from Casa Amor alone in the hopes of reuniting with the firefighter, only to see him stood with another woman.

As she lashed out, Amber said to her pals: "Honestly I'm glad. I'm glad. Dead ting."

She was seemingly talking about Michael at this point, but later appeared to direct the comment at Joanna.

But what does it actually mean?

According to Urban Dictionary, it's a particularly savage insult that means "a person who is a boring c*** and is extremely dull".

While many viewers were confused by what the phrase actually means, with some believing it was Geordie slang, those who understood it couldn't believe she said it.
