What do you think about the new travel rules for amber list countries? Have your say

Travel Secretary Grant Shapps told Parliament today that under-18s and fully vaccinated UK residents will no longer be required to self-isolate upon their return to England from amber list countries.

Trips to popular holiday hotspots including France, Greece, Cyprus and Portugal will no longer require visitors to complete the current quarantine period as of 4am on the 19th of July, provided they has their second jab at least two weeks before travelling as part of the NHS vaccination programme.

Travellers will still be required to do a covid test before they travel and upon their return.

Mr Shapps explained the news was positive not only for holiday-makers, but for people who had been separated from family abroad throughout the pandemic.

The decision has sparked controversy and the devolved nations have been invited to set their own rules going forward.

What are your thoughts on the choice? Are you excited to get away, or do you think the decision is hasty? Let us know in our poll, and don't forget to have your say in the comments.
