What do you make of Arsène Wenger's contract extension at Arsenal?

Arsène Wenger has signed a new three-year contract at Arsenal – a move that means the manager is likely to end his career with the club. The Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood said he was "thrilled" that the manager had put his signature to the new deal, but what do you think of the move?

Wenger has won the double twice at Arsenal and led the club through an entire league season unbeaten in 2003-04. Arsenal also reached the final of the Champions League under his stewardship in 2005-06, but they have not won any silverware since 2005.

Should Arsenal therefore be offering such an extension to a manager who hasn't won any trophies in recent years? Has his reluctance to spend big in the transfer market held the club back? Most pressingly, would any other manager have done better in the circumstances?

And what about Wenger? The manager says he has had plenty of other offers during his time at Arsenal. Should he have stepped outside his comfort zone and tried something new at this stage of his career? Let us know what you think below.
